A Message for Independent Inventors

Hyra IP’s Philosophy Towards Independent Inventors

Hyra IP’s client base includes a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses all over the United States and overseas, as well as a number of individual entrepreneurs and independent inventors.

Hyra IP embraces clients of all types, and is happy to educate individuals on intellectual property law. Hyra IP’s approach is to provide as much information and support as is needed for each individual client, without drowning clients in unnecessary legal details. In our experience, informed clients who can assist in their representation achieve better outcomes.

This philosophy differentiates Hyra IP from other law firms, which do not want the hassle of dealing with less sophisticated clients. Many patent firms simply will not accept individuals as clients.

The Inherent Risks of Invention Commercialization

With acceptance of independent inventors as clients comes the responsibility for tempering their expectations. The reality is that taking an invention from concept to successful commercialization is an expensive process that, statistically, is unlikely to succeed.

Independent inventors face many barriers in the pursuit of their dreams. Few independent inventors are able to successfully license their inventions to corporations for large profits, or achieve success, and wealth, selling their invention in the marketplace.

Patenting your invention, creating a prototype, and marketing your invention to companies or finding your own manufacturer and distributors is expensive, time consuming, and does not guarantee success.

How Hyra IP Can Help

At Hyra IP, we are happy to provide our advice on what intellectual property you need and to put in place the intellectual property protection necessary for you to proceed to the next stage of developing your invention. We can also negotiate and prepare licensing agreements for you when the time comes.

We can provide minimal, if any, help in marketing your invention or finding a suitable prototyping company, manufacturer, distributor, or investor. We are not qualified to provide an expert evaluation of the commercial practicality of your invention. We do not accept payment in shares or ownership percentages. But in the area of intellectual property, we can assist you with whatever you want and need.
